Recently, a new Redmi flagship smartphone that is expected to come with a Snapdragon 855 chipset was allegedly spotted with a pop-up front camera. But now, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has laid all speculations to rest by confirming the phone won’t have a pop-up selfie camera.
Responding to a user’s question on Weibo, Lu Weibing clarified that their Snapdragon 855 powered flagship will not have a pop-up selfie camera. As per reports, the Snapdragon 855-powered Redmi flagship might be launched as Redmi Pro 2. The upcoming Redmi flagship could have a waterdrop notch.
Earlier leaks suggest the Redmi Pro 2 will feature a triple rear camera setup. As per the reports, the primary camera sensor could be the Sony IMX586 48 MP sensor and a second depth sensor for portrait shots.
It is now confirmed that new Redmi flagship won’t have a pop-up camera similar to what we’ve seen on some recent mid-range Vivo phones. At the moment, no specifications or details regarding the launch and availability of the Snapdragon 855-powered Redmi flagship are known.
Rumours say that the smartphone is expected to launch in the second half of 2019. Further details on the upcoming flagship are awaited.
