Earlier this year, Xiaomi announced its Redmi as an independent brand. The brand used to focus on entry-level and mid-range smartphones but now the company is working on flagship smartphones as well. A Redmi smartphone named Redmi Pro 2 has leaked online.
The Redmi Pro 2 has surfaced online on chinese microblogging website, Weibo, which reveals that the device will have a pop-up front-facing camera and it does not feature a notch on top of the display which is similar to what we’ve seen on the Vivo V15 Pro and Oppo F11 Pro. The smartphone is expected to be coming with a Snapdragon 855 chipset
The leak shows the smartphone with a high screen to body ratio and gradient style back. The upcoming handset features a triple rear camera setup. As per the reports, the primary camera sensor could be the Sony IMX586 48 MP sensor.
As per the text in the leaked image, the Redmi Pro 2 will also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. If this comes true, then this could be the first device from the newly independent brand to have an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is also expected to feature a 3.5mm Headphone jack.
A device that looks like the render was also spotted in Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun’s hands as well some time before. This could indicate that the launch of the smartphone is imminent. But as of now, no details about its launch and specifications are known. Rumours say that the smartphone is expected to launch in the second half of 2019.
