Tecno and Motorola each have smartphones under Rs 25,000, and both of them launched last week, the Camon 30 5G and the Edge 50 Fusion, respectively. Starting at the exact same prices, here’s a comparison between the two lower-end mid-rangers based on on-paper specs to help you decide which one to pick.
Display
The Edge 50 Fusion sports a 6.7-inch pOLED curved display with a Resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a Refresh Rate of 144Hz. The display will boast Gorilla Glass protection, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit colours and 1600 nits peak brightness. The Tecno Camon 30 5G sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED Display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ 2436 x 1080 pixels resolution.
Based on the on-paper specs, the Edge 50 Fusion has a better panel, thanks to the higher refresh rate as well as the curved screen. While some may prefer a flat panel, the curved panel definitely helps with a more appealing and premium look.
Software & Performance
The Tecno device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor. It has up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. On the other hand, Edge 50 Fusion packs the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 Processor with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Both of them have LPDDR4x RAM but the Tecno handset has faster UFS 3.1 storage compared to UFS 2.2 on the Motorola device. In addition, it also offers more storage than Motorola’s device.
However, Motorola compensates for the slower storage with a more powerful processor. Tecno’s device runs on HiOS 14, while Motorola’s runs on Hello UI based on Android 14. Motorola’s device will receive 3 years of OS upgrades, while Tecno’s will receive 2 years of Android OS upgrades. Moreover, we feel Motorola’s software is much cleaner compared to Tecno’s HiOS.
Overall, we’d give this round to Motorola Edge 50 Fusion for having better software, providing longer support, and having a better chipset.

Battery & Cameras
The Tecno device’s camera setup includes an OIS-assisted 50MP primary snapper with a 1/1.57-inch sensor size and a 2MP depth sensor. The front has a 50MP sensor for selfies and video calls. The Edge 50 Fusion has an OIS-assisted 50MP f/1.9 main sensor and a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor at the back. At the front, it gets a 32MP f/2.5 sensor with Autofocus support.
Motorola’s device wins in this segment because it has an ultra-wide-angle sensor on the back, which is more practical and useful than the depth sensor on Tecno’s Camon 30 5G. The camera performance of both of these will have to be tested side-by-side to determine which one offers a better photography experience.
Both have a 5000mAh battery, but the Camon 30 5G has 70W fast wired charging support, and the Edge 50 Fusion has 68W, so the results would be quite close in terms of charging time. Overall, we’d give it a draw in the battery segment.

Verdict
Both handsets start at Rs 22,999, but the Tecno device offers more storage in both its variants compared to Motorola’s Edge 50 Fusion. If you want more storage for your price or you are willing to spend more for 512GB storage, opt for the Tecno Camon 30 5G. However, if you want a better phone in terms of display, performance, cameras, and software, then the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is the way to go.
