In a surprising turn of events, Manu Sharma, Vice President and General Manager of Nothing India, has put in his papers after working for the company for almost three years. He announced it in a LinkedIn post. His last day at the office will be January 25, 2024.
In February 2021, Nothing had appointed former Samsung executive Sharma as Vice President and General Manager of Nothing India, a London-based consumer technology company.
Akis Evangelidis, Co-Founder of Nothing, said to The Mobile Indian, “Manu has been instrumental in setting up and expanding the presence of Nothing India. He is leaving the company for personal reasons.”
When we inquired about the possibility of Nothing India appointing a new Indian Country Head, the response was positive. Evangelidis said, “We are working on it, and an official announcement will be made soon.” When further asked about the timeline, he said the announcement could be expected in January.
Evangelidis further added that India is an important market for Nothing, and as the company expands its presence there, he will spend more time here.
When we asked about the recent news that the London-based start-up Nothing is planning to hold an event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) on February 27, 2024, to reveal new devices, Evangelidis confirmed that they plan to make some major announcements but did not share any details.
