We already know that HTC and Google have signed up for the Nexus devices to be launched this year. The two HTC Nexus devices which are to be launched this year are allegedly codenamed as HTC S1 “Sailfish†and HTC M1 “Marlinâ€. Recently specifications of the HTC S1 Sailfish smartphone leaked online. And now, alleged specifications of the HTC M1 Martin smartphone have been leaked on Android Police which leaked specs of Sailfish earlier.
HTC Marlin is bigger than Sailfish and is likely a successor to the Nexus 6P. As per Android Police, HTC M1 Martin features a bigger 5.5-inch QHD display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution, quad-core Qualcomm processor, 4GB of RAM, 32 or 128GB of storage, and a 3,450 mAh battery. It features a 12 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. The handset will feature a fingerprint scanner on the back, bottom firing speakers, and has support for Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and a Type C USB port. The leak does not mention anything about the operating system but like Sailfish, Marlin is also said to come with Android Nougat.
Most of the leaked specs of Marlina and Sailfish are same, the only differences between Sailfish and Marlin will be size, battery capacity, and display resolution.
As per earlier reports, HTC S1 Sailfish is the smaller of both the devices and is likely to succeed Nexus 5X. The S1 Sailfish is expected to come with a 5-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel Resolution and 440ppi pixel density. Reportedly it will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset which has a 64-bit 2.0 GHz quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage.
HTC Sailfish features rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and USB-C port at the bottom with a top mounted Headphone jack. The handset has support for Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and is backed by a 2,770 mAh battery. It features a 12 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera.
Currently it is not know that when the two devices will be made official but as per some reports, the HTC Marlin and Sailfish will be officially announced sometime between September and October.
HTC made the first ever Nexus smartphone, the Nexus One, for Google back in year 2010. Later in 2014, HTC made the Nexus 9, a 9 inch screen bearing tablet, for Google. Last year, two Google Nexus smartphones were launched, Huawei made Nexus 6P and LG made Nexus 5X. The 16 GB and 32 GB variants of Nexus 5X were launched in India for Rs 31,900 and Rs 35,900 respectively while the Nexus 6P came with a price tag of Rs 39,999 for the 32GB variant and Rs 42,999 for the 64GB variant.
To recall, Huawei made Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset which has a 64-bit 2.0 GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 430GPU along with 3GB of RAM. The device is powered by a 3,450mAh battery. It features a 12.3 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 Aperture and large 1.55 μM pixels and an 8 megapixel front camera with 1.4 μM pixel sensor.
On the other hand, LG made Nexus 5X comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset which has a 64-bit 1.8GHz hexa-core processor with Adreno 418 GPU. It has 2GB RAM. It will be available in two variants 16GB and 32GB. It has a 2,700mAh battery. The LG Nexus 5X has a 12.3 megapixel main camera with f/2.0 lens, 1.55 μM pixels, laser autofocus, and 4K video capture ability. For selfies, it has a 5 megapixel front camera.
