Micromax after a gap of roughly two months has launched the successor of In Note 1, In Note 2 In India. It has a price tag of Rs 12,999. I have spent some time with the latest smartphone from Micromax and here are my first impressions.

Micromax IN Note 2 sports an all-glass body with Corning Gorilla 3 protection both in the rear and front. It comes in two colour options Black And Brown. We got the Brown Variant for review which looks quite stunning. Here I must say Micromax h since its comeback last year has really worked hard for improving the design language of its smartphones and it reflects on Note 2 as well.

The smartphone can be held and operated comfortably with one hand. But I must add that the phone is a fingerprint magnet and it would be advisable to use the Silicon case provided inside the box to avoid unnecessary wiping of the mobile.

In the back panel, we have the quad-camera set up of 48 Main sensor, 5 MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP Bokeh Assist(whatever that means) and 2Mp Macro lens. The camera assembly is reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S21 but is not a copy. During our initial testing, we felt that the phone needs a software update to improve focusing as most of the times was didn’t perform well. The pictures clicked in Good lighting condition came out well but we felt the colour tone was a couple of shades darker than the original colour. We will do a detailed camera review soon. so keep reading The mobile Indian.

In the side panel, we have a volume rocker and power on/ off button which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner as well. during our initial testing, we were quite happy with the response time of the Fingerprint scanner. The smartphone also supports face unlock which seems to be a bit slower than a Fingerprint scanner.

You get two Nano-SIM slots and a dedicated card slot for storage expansion. You’ll find a 3.5mm audio jack, USB port, primary microphone, and loudspeaker at the bottom. The top of the In Note 2 only has the secondary microphone. Micromax has also put an “In” logo towards the bottom.

The Micromax In Note 2 has a 6.43” FHD+ AMOLED Display. The big display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and supports 550 NITs of Brightness. One will see a slight big chin at the bottom but the bezel is not that thick and will not hamper the viewing experience. The colours look punchy on the smartphone.

You get the MediaTek Helio G95, which is a capable processor, has been in Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S already. This is paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone comes with 64 of which can be expanded to 256 GB via a microSD card.

The Micromax In Note 2 comes equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging. One can expect the smartphone to charge around 50% in 30 Minutes.

Coming to the software, It runs on Android 11 and you get near-stock Android. If you are an purist and love bloat Free experience Micromax In Note 2 will not disappoint you. Micromax promises guaranteed upgrades for two years but let’s see when it happens.
