Mahindra has always surprised its audience with iconic concept cars at the Auto Expo. At the 2016 event, the company has released its XUV Aero concept for the SUV segment. And this year in the same category, Mahindra and Mahindra will be showcasing the first of a kind sub-four meter convertible SUV by an Indian manufacturer.
According to a report by Autocar, the new convertible will be based on the underpinning frame of the TUV300, but will follow the completely different design and will look nothing like it. The company will only be using the frame chassis of the TUV, as it is perfect for the sub-four meter convertible.
Similar to the TUV300, the new convertible is expected to powered by the 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, mHawk 100 diesel 1493cc engine that produces maximum power of 100 Bhp at 3750 rpm and 240 Nm at 1600-2800 rpm. It will be mated with the 5-speed transmission manual/automatic gearbox.
At the front, the convertible SUV will follow the similar aggressive design language as the XUV500. With this latest look, the SUV will have a tough competition with the Nissan Murano and the Range Rover Evoque.
