Suzuki India has announced to launch the 2018 edition of its most iconic motorcycle, Hayabusa. The Rs 13.87 lakh (ex-showroom) machine will be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in two colour variants – Pearl Mira Red/Pearl Glacier White and Glass Sparkle Black. It will be available in February.
The Suzuki’s first Made-in-India bike will be powered by the 1340cc 4-cylinder fuel-injected, liquid-cooled Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) engine. For those who don’t know, the engine characterised by two camshafts located within the cylinder head, one operating the intake valves and the other one operating the exhaust valves.
The Hayabusa is capable is delivering acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3 seconds with top speed of 299 kmph. It offers 197bhp of power at 9,500rpm and 155 Nm of peak torque at 7,200rpm. This unit is mated to a six-speed constant mesh gearbox.
Other than this, the bike comes with dual channel-ABS (anti-lock braking system) and has 310mm twin discs at the front and 260mm disk at the rear. Hayabusa scales 287 kg with the full fuel tank of 21-litres.
Moving to the console, it has a set of four round analogue gauges that display the tachometer, speedometer, fuel meter and coolant temperature. Further, the LCD display indicates the gear position, trip meter, clock, odometer and S-DMS map indicator.
