Xiaomi has been quick to push out MIUI 11 updates to its smartphones and now it’s time for the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi 7 to get the same. The updates are based on Android 9 Pie and bring with it the latest October 2019 Android security patches.
The latest update on the Redmi Note 5 Pro weighs 622MB and shifts the build number to version MIUI v11.02.0 PEIMIXM. In addition to MIUI 11, the update fixes issues inside WiFi page and battery saver.
Redmi 7, on the other hand, receives the MIUI v11.0.2.0PFLINXM firmware which weighs in at 725MB.
With MIUI 11, both the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi 7 will now feature dynamic themes for Always-on display, breathing notifications and custom messages on the lock screen, system-wide dark mode and dynamic font scaling for changing character thickness. Users will be greeted with new sound effects inspired by the sounds of nature including animal, water and fire noises.
MIUI 11 also brings continuous swipe for an additional menu in Game Turbo and a home screen shortcut inside the mode. Game Turbo also gets the functionality of switching internet from two SIMs, a new reading mode, screenshot gestures and turning off auto-brightness. There’s also a new Mi Share file transfer tool and Mi Doc Viewer.
Redmi K20 was the first to receive an update to MIUI 11 last week soon after which the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Poco F1 were both seeded with Xiaomi’s latest mobile software. Yesterday, several users started reporting about MIUI 11 on their Redmi K20 Pro, Note 7, Note 7S and Redmi Y3 units as well.
