HMD Global has scheduled a launch event which is set to take place on December 5 in Dubai. The company has started sending out media invites for the launch event to be held on the said date. The invite, however, indicates that as many as three smartphones will be announced at the event. The company is expected to unveil the recently leaked Nokia 2.1 Plus, Nokia 8.1and Nokia 9 at the event.
HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, shared the event invite via Twitter and also posted a teaser image alongside the hashtag “#ExpectMore.” The Nokia 8.1 is expected to be the global variant of the Nokia X7 smartphone which was launched by the company in China. In India, the X7 will likely be launched as Nokia 7.1 Plus.

The company is also expected to introduce the successor of the Nokia 8 named as Nokia 9 and successor of the Nokia 2.1 Android Oreo (Go edition) named as Nokia 2.1 Plus.
Nokia 8.1 is expected to feature a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 2.2GHz octa-core processor coupled with 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB storage variants. All the variants are expandable up to 400GB via micro SD card slot. The phone is expected to have a 12-megapixel primary lens and 13-megapixel secondary sensor and a 20-megapixel front camera. It will run on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system which will be upgradable to Android 9 Pie and will be backed up by a 3400mAh battery with Fast charging support.
Nokia 9 smartphone will reportedly have a primary 22MP camera. Leaks suggest that the phone with five rear cameras and Zeiss branding. Other rumoured specifications include a large 5.7-inch Quad-HD POLED screen, coupled with a Snapdragon 845 Chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone is also rumoured to be the first Nokia smartphone sporting an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Nothing much about the specs of Nokia 2.1 Plus are known at the moment. However, a recent FCC listing shows that the Nokia 2.1 Plus has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Nokia 2.1 Plus will be the bigger-sized variant of Nokia 2.1 that was launched in India in August this year has 8 GB of RAM.
