Auto Expo 2018: Getting there, ticket prices and more

Scheduled from February 9 to 14 , it will be held at India Expo Mart, Knowledge Park- II, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The Auto Expo is India’s biggest biennial automotive show held in Delhi NCR. And this year it will be the 14th edition, which will attract the presence of most of the automobile majors besides participation from over 30 countries.

The much awaited show, which moved to its new venue in 2014, remains a crowd favourite, despite the tough drudgery of getting to the new venue in Greater Noida and ticket prices that are steep by local standards. Of course, the die-hard fans claim that both these negatives combine to create a big positive, in the form of more manageable crowds and better management at the venue.

It is worth mentioning, like the previous edition, 2018 Auto Expo will also be divided into two segments, one is the components show, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from February 8 to 11, while second is the motor show, the one you are looking for. It is scheduled from February 9 to 14 and will be held at India Expo Mart, Knowledge Park- II, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Auto Expo

The tickets for the 2018 Auto Expo are available on the Bookmyshow and will also sell on certain Delhi Metro stations – Rajiv Chowk and Kashmiri Gate, and expected on Pragati Maidan and Botanical Garden Metro Station. For Business hours one will have to pay Rs 750 on February 9, February 12 and February 14, 10 AM onwards. However, for General Public hours, you will have to pay Rs 350 to Rs 475.

For those who wish to travelby public transport to the Auto Expo will have to get down at the Botanical Garden Metro Station, which is on the Blue Line toward the Noida City Center. Later the person will have to take a 22 KM bus drive from the station to the Expo Mart, which would take approximately 25 to 30 minutes. For the AC bus one will have to Rs 40, while the non-AC costs only Rs 25.

The 2018 Auto Expo is expected to be much bigger than the 2016 event , as the latter had only three new launches, while this year we will be seeing over 24 launches and the unveiling of over 100 vehicles during the show. Under the bikesegment, we will have the Yamaha R15 V3.0, Royal EnfieldThunderbird 350x and Thunderbird 500x, three new models of Bajaj Dominar, Hero MotoCorpXtreme 200R, Suzuki Hayabusa2018, UM Duty 230 and more.

While under the car section we will have Tata X451 premium hatchback, Mahinda’s Convertable SUV, 16 new cars by KIA along with the KIA SP concept, Toyota Vios and more. However, some of the Auto Giants like Nissan, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover, Jeep, Volkswagen, Skoda, Ford and Ducati are skipping the mega event this year. It is not clear why the big brands havedecided to back out this year, but the general refrain since the last couiple of years has been the high cost of participation, and a drop off in interest in case the brand does not have a launch or big announcement to make.
