Alongside the launch fo the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones, Redmi has unveiled two new products in China – the 70-inch Redmi TV with 4K Resolution and the RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition notebook powered by Intel’s latest 10th generation Intel processors. The Redmi TV will be available for an asking price of 3,799 yuan (approx. Rs 38,600) while the RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition starts at 3,999 yuan (approx. Rs 40,600) for the base model.
Redmi TV 70-inch
The new Redmi TV comes with a 70-inch 4K HDR screen. The TV is powered by a sixth-generation Amlogic 64-bit chipset, a Cortex-A53 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz and a 750MHz Mali-450 MP3 GPU. The internal of the Redmi TV is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
The Redmi TV comes with Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connectivity. Other connectivity options include three HDMI ports, two USB ports, an Ethernet port, S / PDIF and AV ports. It will support Dolby Audio and DTS-HD support for enhanced audio.
During the event, Redmi focused that the TV will not only offer multimedia content playing but will also act as a smart home hub solution, meaning all Xiaomi and Redmi smart home products can be controlled with the Redmi TV. The TV will come running PatchWall UI with XiaoAI voice assistant. The company says the device can be used in offices and can read documents and PDF files right from a removable USB stick.
RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition
As was expected of the company, Redmi has also taken the wrappers of the RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition which as the name indicates is an improvement over the original RedmiBook 14 which came with eighth-generation Intel processors back in May.
The RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition comes in three models, all of them featuring Nvidia’s MX250 graphics. The most expensive variant is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core i7-10510U processor with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The middle variant features a 10th generation Intel Core i5-10210U processor with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The base model of RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition comes with a 10th generation Intel Core i5-10210U processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage.
Besides this, the Enhanced Edition resembles that of the original RedmiBook 14 equipping a 14-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) 16:9 display with 178° wide viewing angle, 250 nits brightness and 81.2% screen to body ratio. Additional features include a full-sized keyboard, 10-hour battery, 3.5mm Headphone jack, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports, a charging port, WiFi and Bluetooth.
The RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition with Core i5 and 256GB storage is priced at 3,999 yuan (approx. Rs 40,600) while the 512GB storage model costs 4,499 yuan (approx. Rs 45,700). The top-end RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition with Core i7 processor is available for 4,999 yuan (approx. Rs 50,800). The 70-inch Redmi TV can be purchased for an asking price of 3,799 yuan (approx. Rs 38,600).
