Realme released updates to the Realme 2 Pro and Realme 1 two weeks ago and very soon the company’s first two devices will be upgraded to Google’s latest mobile OS – Android 9.0 Pie. Realme has today confirmed that both the Realme 2 and the older Realme 1 devices will get an update to Android Pie.
The news comes in the form of a reply to a tweet where a user asked whether Realme 1 will be seeded with an Android Pie update in the future. To this, Realme India’s official Support handle replied by saying that Android 9 Pie will soon feature on Realme 1 as well as Realme 2.

Though Realme confirmed an update will come ‘soon’, it hasn’t actually revealed a timeline for its update release, meaning Android Pie will come to its devices sometime next year. There’s a possibility that Realme 1 will be updated to the latest interface earlier than that of Realme’s other devices. While the company hasn’t given a word on a similar update to the Realme 2 Pro, it’s highly likely to happen in the near future since even the Realme 2 is getting a taste of the latest Google OS.
November has seen a lot of things happening for the ex-subbrand of Oppo as the company just entered the offline domain in the Indian market and also hiked the prices of its smartphones. Realme is also expected to announce a device powered by the MediaTek Helio P70 chip and is soon expected to rely on Oppo’s VOOC fast charging technology.
