The Realme 2 Pro is getting upgraded as we speak. The latest mid-range smartphone from Realme will soon receive an over-the-air update that will bring camera optimisations and an improved battery life which will significantly consume less battery the gaming.
The news was made official by Realme CEO Madhav Sheth who took to Twitter to reveal that the Realme 2 Pro will receive an OTA update within this week. Sheth also made it clear that the next in line to receive an update after the Realme 2 Pro is its Realme 1 device, which was their first smartphone.
In a week’s time, the Realme 1 will be updated to feature Oppo’s ColorOS 5.2, the highlight of which is a Smart Assistant which helps in object recognition, code scanning, App prediction, payment and smart driving. Users will also be able to enter/exit split screen mode by using a three-finger gesture. There’s a new Game Mode which allows new game optimisations that can be customised as the user wishes. ColorOS 5.2 on the Realme 1 will also fix an issue involving notification clearing process.
To recall, the Realme 2 Pro is Realme latest take on a budget smartphone featuring a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with 19:9 aspect ratio and 409ppi Pixel density. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Processor with Adreno 512 GPU, up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. There’s a dual 16MP (f/1.7, 1/2.8″, 1.12µm, PDAF) + 2MP camera setup at the back with a 16MP shooter on the front for selfies.
Last week, Realme also confirmed that it’ll soon bring a smartphone powered by MediaTek’s Helio P70 Chipset and will be the first manufacturer to do so. The device will come under an all-new series and won’t be lined up as a successor to any of the Realme 2 or Realme 2 Pro.
