Meizu has today launched the Meizu V8 and V8 Pro entry-level smartphones in China, both featuring 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 displays and running Android 8.1 Oreo. While the cheaper Meizu V8 retails for 799 yuan (approx. Rs 8,400), the V8 Pro will be available for 1,098 yuan (approx. Rs 11,600).
Both the V8 Pro and V8 feature a 5.7-inch HD+ screen with a Resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The front panel promises a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 450 nits brightness. While the V8 uses a 3,200mAh battery, the V8 Pro is fuelled by a smaller 3,100mAh battery. Both devices run on Android 8.1 Oreo with Meizu’s Flyme OS on top.
The cheaper Meizu V8 comes powered by the 1.5GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6739 with 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The device features a polycarbonate back which equips the 13MP single primary rear camera with f/2.2 Aperture and there’s also a 5MP f/1.9 snapper on the front. The selfie camera also includes face unlocking and there’s also a fingerprint scanner for authentication.
The V8 Pro unlike its cheaper sibling is made of metal and is powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P22 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There’s now a dual-camera setup at the back which features a 12MP + 5MP setup with f/2.2 aperture. The front-facing snapper is a 5MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and face unlock support.
Meizu V8 is available in White and black colours for a price of 799 yuan (approx. Rs 8,400) while the V8 Pro retails in Black and gold variants for an asking price of 1,098 yuan (approx. Rs 11,600).
