A week after announcing its Mate X foldable smartphone, Huawei has introduced the entry-level Y6 (2019) smartphone as a successor to last year’s Huawei Y6 (2018) smartphone.
The Huawei Y6 (2019) bears a similar semblance to the Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) which was launched at the end of January this year. It comes with a 6.09-inch FHD+ display with a Resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels and a dew-drop display which brings the screen space to a screen-to-body ratio of 87 percent. The device features a textured leather finish at the back of the Amber Brown variant while the Saphire Blue and Midnight Black models come with a metal back panel.

The Y6 (2019) is powered by a 12nm MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 Processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The device storage can be expanded to up to 512GB through a micro SD card slot. The Huawei smartphone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with the EMUI 9.0 interface on top and is fuelled by a 3020mAh battery.
In terms of optics, the Y6 (2019) pacts in a dual camera setup at the back which comprises of a 13MP lens with wide f/1.8 Aperture sensor. For selfies, the device features an 8MP camera with Selfie Toning Flash 2.0.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and FM radio.
Price and availability of the Huawei Y6 (2019) are yet to be made official.
