Huawei P10 and P10 Plus now receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update

Huawei launched P10 and P10 Plus with Android Nougat 7.0 based EMUI 5.1 in February last year and now the devices are receiving the Android Oreo update along with EMUI 8.0.

Huawei started looking for beta testers of the P10 and P10 Plus smartphones for the latest Android Oreo update some time back. Late, both the smartphones received Android Oreo Beta update. Now the company has rolled out the stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo update to both the devices.

The latest development surfaced from Huawei Philippines’ official Facebook page which informed the users that they could now update their devices. From the post, the update brings build number 8.0.0.360(C636) for the international model of both the standard P10 (VTR-L29) and the larger P10 Plus (VKY-L29). The update brings February security patch as well.

After the Oreo update, the smartphones will have picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more.
