HMD Global has now sent out ‘Save the Date’invites for a launch event to be held on December 6 in India. The company is largely expected to launch the Nokia 8.1 which is theglobal variant of the Nokia X7 in the country. It is expected that the company might also launch Nokia 7.1 in the country.However, the media invite doesn’t reveal anything about the phones to be launched at the event.
The Nokia Mobile India Twitter handle has already started teasing the launch of smartphones with the #ExpectMore hashtag. The teasers have hinted that one smartphone will feature notched display.
HMD Global has also scheduled an event in Dubai on December 5 in which the company is expected to launch Nokia 8.1, Nokia 2.1 Plus and Nokia 9. A launch event on December 6 in India could mean announcemnet of same phones the very next day. Nokia 7.1 is rumoured to launch alongside these phones.
To recap on the spec sheet of the Nokia 8.1 willfeature a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with a screen Resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 2.2GHz octa-core processor.
It will likely have three variants – 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB storage. All the variants are expandable up to 400GB via micro SD card slot. The phone is expected to have a 12-megapixel primary lens and 13-megapixel secondary sensor and a 20-megapixel front camera. It will run on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system which will be upgradable to Android 9 Pie and will be backed up by a 3400mAh battery with Fast charging support.
