Xiaomi slashed the price of its Mi A2 in India yesterday. Now the company has also permanently reduced the price of Redmi Note 5 Pro by up to Rs 2,000. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is now available for sale on Flipkart, Amazon.in, Mi.com and offline stores.
Xiaomi India MD Manu Jain announced the price cut on the Redmi Note 5 Pro on his twitter handle. The tweet reads “Mi fans! Here’s the special announcement: #RedmiNote5Pro gets whopping up to Rs 4000 off, an offer you surely can’t refuse! RT & give me #High5 if you’ve been waiting for this sweet deal! ?? 3 more to go!” The tweet also mentions that the company has sold 100 lakh (1 cr) handsets in India.

After the price cut, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant will now retail for Rs 12,999 in India, while the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant will be priced at Rs 13,999. It is worth mentioning here that this is the second price cut that the Redmi Note 5 has received in the last two months.
In November, after a price of Rs 1,000, the smartphone price was reduced to Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,999 for the 4GB and 6GB respectively. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was initially launched in two variants – 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB at Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999.
To recap, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. It has 4000mah battery and it runs on MIUI 9.5 based Android 8.1 Oreo. On the camera front, there are two cameras of 12MP and 5MP. The phone has a 20MP front camera.
