Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11 update to its older smartphones, Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi Y2 smartphone in India. The update brings new features along with the latest security patch to both the devices.

To start with, MIUI 11 for Redmi 6 Pro is about 534MB in size and it comes with version number MIUI 11.0.3.0.PDMMIXM. For Redmi Y2, the update is around 1.5GB in size and it comes with version number MIUI 11.0.1.0.PEFMIXM. The update brings the latest October security patch to both the devices.

With this, users will be able to try their hands on the latest version of MIUI 11. will now feature dynamic themes for Always-on display, breathing notifications and custom messages on the lock screen, system-wide dark mode and dynamic font scaling for changing character thickness. Users will be greeted with new sound effects inspired by the sounds of nature including animal, water and fire noises.

MIUI 11 also brings continuous swipe for an additional menu in Game Turbo and a home screen shortcut inside the mode. Game Turbo also gets the functionality of switching internet from two SIMs, a new reading mode, screenshot gestures and turning off auto-brightness. There’s also a new Mi Share file transfer tool and Mi Doc Viewer.

To recollect, Xiaomi Redmi Y2 features 5.99-inch HD+ display with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display comes with 450nits brightness, 10000:1 contrast ratio and 70.8 per cent NTSC colour gamut. The phone is backed by a 3080mAh battery and it was shipped with 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9 running on top of it.

The Redmi 6 Pro has a 5.84-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) notched display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The Redmi 6 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, Adreno 506 and 4,000mAh battery. For storage, it has 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage with expandable via card (up to 256GB).
