Xiaomi has today announced the launch of its latest budget-centric smartphone, the Redmi Y2 (Picture Story), in India. The phone comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999 for the 3GB and 32GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option is priced at Rs 12,999. The phone will be exclusively availablefrom 12 Noon June 12, on Amazon India in Gray, Rose gold, Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver colour options. Further, the brand has introduced Rs 1,800 instant cashback offer for Airtel consumers with up to240GB of free data and Rs 500 instant discount on ICICI Bank debit and credit cards.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 features 5.99-inch HD+ display with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9.The display comes with 450nits brightness, 10000:1 contrast ratio and 70.8 percent NTSC colour gamut. It ispowered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage, and expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD. The Redmi Y2 gets its strength from decent 3,080 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system wrapped under MIUI 9. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.
On the camera front, the Redmi Y2 sports a dual rear camera of 12-megapixel primary camera with PDAF, LED Flash and 5-megapixel secondary camera for AI portrait shots. It has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Besides the smartphone offers dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a Micro USB port. The handset measures 160.73 x 77.26 mm x 8.1 mm and weighs 170g.
