Xiaomi Mi 9 will have better fast charging technology, hints Xiaomi CEO

Xiaomi Mi 9 will be backed up by a 3,500mAh battery with 32W fast charging support. However, the phone will lack support for wireless charging.

Xiaomi is working on Xiaomi Mi 8 successor, dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 9. The phone has already surfaced in various leaks and rumours before. Now it is expected that Xiaomi Mi 9 will have better technology.

While promoting the 18W fast charger for the Redmi Note 7 through a Weibo post, Xiaomi CEO revealed that the charging will definitely be faster and good when someone asked if the Xiaomii upcoming Mi 9 smartphone will have 24W fast charging support or more.

It is rumoured that Xiaomi Mi 9 will be backed up by a 3,500mAh battery with 32W fast charging support. However, the phone will lack support for wireless charging.

As per an earlier report, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will feature a 6.4-inch full-HD+ with 19:9 aspect ratio an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC with the X24 modem. It will start with 6GB of and 128GB internal storage. The phone will have up to 8 or 10GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

For the camera, Xiaomi Mi 9 will sport a triple rear camera setup – with one 48-megapixel Sony ImX586 sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens and a 3D TOF sensor as well. For the front, the smartphone will feature a 24-megapixel Sony IMX576 sensor. It will run 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. For dimensions, the phone will measure 155 x 75 x 7.6mm.

It is said that Xiaomi will be launching Mi 9 in late February or early March and phone will go on sale in March. The base variant of the Xiaomi Mi 9 featuring 6GB of RAM/128GB of storage is sadi tol be priced at 2999 Yuan which is approx. Rs 30,480.
