Xiaomi Mi 10 with Snapdragon 865 coming in Q1 2020

Oppo, Motorola and ZTE have also announced that their upcoming smartphones will feature Snapdragon 865 SoC.

During this year’s Snapdragon Technology Summit, Qualcomm unveiled its latest flagship chipsets for smartphones – Snapdragon 865, Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G. After this announcement, Xiaomi’s Co-Founder and Vice-Chairman Lin Bin officially announced the existence of the Mi 10.

Lin Bin announced that the Mi 10 smartphone will use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 865 SoC, one of the first phones to use the new chip and it will be coming very soon. He also confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K30 which will be unveiled next week will be powered by Snapdragon 765 SoC.

No other details about the Xiaomi Mi 10 were announced. However, the phone will be launched in early 2020 either in CES or MWC event. Bin also announced that Xiaomi plans to launch over 10 5G-compatible smartphones in 2020. He did not announce the names or any other information about the phones.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro existence was also recently confirmed by Xiaomi President Lin Bin. He replied to a fan saying that the upcoming Mi 10 Pro will be the successor to the Mi 9 Pro. Apart from this confirmation about the Mi Note 10 Pro’s existence, nothing much is known about this upcoming flagship smartphone.

Meanwhile, other brands like Oppo, Motorola and ZTE have also announced that their upcoming smartphones will feature Snapdragon 865 SoC.

Oppo said that its next flagship smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform will be announced in Q1 2020. Motorola said it will launch 5G phones based on the Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 865 in 2020. ZTE said that their upcoming smartphones with 5G support, Snapdragon 865 and X55 will be announced in the first half of 2020.

Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global also announced that new Nokia phones will be announced early next year based on the Snapdragon 765 SoC.
