Xiaomi is working on Mi Mix 4 with 5G support, faster wireless charging

The upcoming Xiaomi phone could either be labelled as the Mi Mix 4 or Mi Mix 3s. The Mi Mix device is expected to come with native support for 5G cellular technology which comes in line with what Xiaomi CEO Lie Jun said previously, stating that a 5G phone will be released in the second half of 2019.

Xiaomi is readying up a new smartphone likely under its Mi Mix lineup. This is evident from the latest listing on Chinese certification site TENAA which reveals a phone with the model number M1908F1XE. This could be the much-awaited successor to the Mi Mix 3 which was announced in October 2018.

The Mi Mix device is expected to come with native support for 5G cellular technology which comes in line with what Xiaomi CEO Lie Jun said previously, stating that a 5G phone will be released in the second half of 2019. This will be the second Mi Mix phone coming with 5G support after Xiaomi announced the Mi Mix 3 5G smartphone at MWC 2019.

Besides the TENAA listing, there is some additional information about the upcoming Mi Mix phone. Xiaomi Product Director, Wang Teng has confirmed that the Mi Mix 4 will also come with a faster wireless charging technology as compared to the Mi 9. This means the Mi Mix 4 will come with a charging solution which will be faster than the 20-watt fast wireless charging support on the Mi 9.

The Mi Mix 4 was previously teased by Xiaomi in March through a post which showed an outline of a phone next to the original Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2 and Mi Mix 3. As compared to the Mi Mix 3, the Mi Mix 4 is likely to offer a higher screen-to-body-ratio.

Rumours suggest that the Mi Mix 4 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus with up to 16GB RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is expected to come with a QHD+ AMOLED display, HDR10+ support, 60Hz+ refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint scanner and 100W fast-charging. There could be a 64MP primary camera with a periscope secondary lens. The phone is also touted to come with certification for water and dust resistance.
