Xiaomi has introduced the launch of its first ever 5G smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. The company has also introduced the global variant of the Xiaomi Mi 9 as well.
Starting with the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G, the smartphone employs a Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G Modem that delivers up to 2Gbps download speed. It comes with a price tag of EUR 599 and it will be available commercially starting from May this year. The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform.
Rest of the specifications remains similar to the standard variant of the Mi MIX 3. This means that the smartphone features a magnetic slider design and it comes with ceramic body. The smartphone features 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Display that has a Resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. The display has a high screen-to-body ratio of 93.4 percent and is well lit under bright sunlight at 600 nits.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 features a 6.39-inch full HD+ S-AMOLED display with waterdrop notch. The display comes with 600-nit brightness, Sunlight mode 2.0, Reading mode 2.0, Always-on Display and 103.8 percent NTSC wide color gamut. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Chipset coupled with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM. It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The Xiaomi phone features a rear-mounted triple camera setup with a combination of Sony IMX586 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel Wide-Angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x Optical Zoom support. On the front side, the phone is fitted with a 20-megapixel selfie camera. This is the first Xiaomi phone to feature three cameras at the back.
