Reliance Jio yesterday launched JioPhone 2 at its 41st annual general meeting (AGM) in Mumbai. The smart feature phone also supports Facebook, YouTube, and WhatsApp applications. Now soon after Jio’s announcement, HMD Global has announced its Nokia 8110 4G will also get WhatsApp support soon.
The confirmation comes straight from Juho Sarvikas, Chief Officer at HMD Global on his official Twitter handle. He tweeted, Oh look, “#Whatsapp on #KaiOS! Looking forward to going (banana)s!”. The tweet hints that the Nokia 8110 4G phone will get the WhatsApp support soon.

To recall, the company launched the Nokia 8110 4G feature phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 and is also called banana phone. The 4G feature phone is a revised version of its earlier Nokia 8810 phone. Nokia 8110 4G phone runs KaiOS just like the JioPhone and JioPhone 2. The feature phone comes with Facebook, Twitter, Google Search, Google Maps and Google Assistant but it lacked the WhatsApp support till now. But now after the tweet, the phone will get the support soon.
If we look at the specs of Nokia banana phone, it features a 2.4-inch QVGA curved display. It is powered by Qualcomm 205 mobile platform along with 512MB of LPDDR3 RAM and 4GB of storage. The Nokia 8110 feature phone comes loaded with a 2-megapixel rear camera and it features 1500mAh battery. Apart from this, it features WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, micro USB, 3.5mm Audio Jack and micro SIM slot. And yes, it comes with a revamped version of Snake.
