A month after starting to offer a 100 percent cashbackto its prepaid customers, Vodafone has introduced a Rs 169 plan as it expands its prepaid catalogue. The latest plan has been brought to do some damage to Jio’s Rs 149 plan while the operator has also made some revisions to its older Rs 199 and Rs 399 plans.
First up, the latest Rs 169 Prepaid plan from Vodafone offers unlimited local, STD and nation roaming for the duration of its validity which is 28 days. In addition to free calling, the plan also offers 1GB of 3G/4G data and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. The data benefits will also work for users with 3G handsets.
On completion of the 1GB quota for a day, users will be charged 50 paise for an MB of browsing or downloading. Unlike Jio’s unlimited voice calling, Vodafone is only offering free calls to up to 250 minutes daily and 1,000 minutes weekly. Once the capping is overcome, Vodafone will charge you 1.2 paise per second or Re 1 per minute when calling, depending on the user’s base plan.
Vodafone has also revised its Rs 199 and Rs 399 prepaid plans with newer benefits and validities. The Rs 199 prepaid plan now comes with 1.5GB of 2G/3G/4G data on a daily basis for 28 days. This means a total of 42GB of high-speed data in addition to unlimited calling, SMS and roaming. Prior to this, the Rs 199 plan only allowed users to use 1.4GB of data.
There’s also a Rs 399 prepaid plan which offers 1GB daily data during the course of 84 days. The plan thus packs a total of 84GB with unlimited calling and SMS. For the same price, Vodafone previously allowed 1.4GB daily data but for a validity of 70 days.
