Earlier we had reported that the Tata Motors is soon expected to launch its mid-spec AMT variant of its compact SUV Nexon. The wait is finally over, as the company has added two new variants to its range, dubbed as the Nexon XMA AMT.
The petrol trim of the SUV is priced at Rs 7.50 (ex-showroom) lakh, while the diesel will be up for a grab of Rs 8.53 lakh (ex-showroom). The variant is based on the Nexon’s mid-specification XM model, which will now be known as the XMA. To recall, earlier this year, Tata has unveiled the top-specs AMT models as well, by the name of XZA+.
With this Tata Motors will be competing against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza AMT. Starting with the price tag of Rs 8.54 Lakh (ex-showroom). The compact SUV is powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged, 1248cc displacement, 4-cylinder DDiS 200 diesel engine. It generates 88 bhp of power at 4000 rpm with the peak torque 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. Mated to an automatic transmission the machine will deliver the mileage of 22 kmpl.
Recollecting few Nexon’s specifications, it is powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged, 1198cc displacement, 3-cylinder petrol engine. It generates 110 PS of power with the peak torque 170 Nm. While, the 1.5-liter turbocharged, 1497cc displacement, 4-cylinder diesel engine which is claimed to offer 110 PS of maximum power and 260 Nm of peak torque. Further, the former machine is promised with the mileage of 17.88 kmpl and later with 23.97 kmpl.
As far as features are concerned, the trim will be equipped with the same features like park assists sensors, power window, Bluetooth enabled music system, Smart Hill Assist and Crawl function as well. While the Smart Hill Assist prevents Nexon from rolling-back on uphill drives during bumper-to-bumper traffic, the Crawl function comes into play during slow-moving traffic by helping the car move ahead without pressing the accelerator.
