Sony today announced a new line of 5.1-channel audio systems under its Home Cinema Soundbar series in India. The HT-S500RF and HT-S700RF are enabled with Bluetooth connectivity and can be purchased at Rs 29,990 and Rs 37,990 respectively at Flipkart, Amazon and Sony Center stores across the country.
The new Sony Soundbars make use of Indian-standard sound settings to deliver a crisp vocal sound when watching TV shows and a powerful base when it comes to immersive music listening. The rhombus-shaped grills on both systems offer sound at a maximum output of 1000 watts which along with in-house tweeters produce high-frequency audio.
While the cheaper HT-S500RF makes use of two front facing tweeters, the more expensive HT-S700RF Soundbar has a system of two rear “Tall Boy” speakers and two front tweeters thus offering an enhanced sound-stage compared the former. The 18cm and 20cm subwoofers on the HT-S500RF and HT-S700RF produce a clear and powerful bass which are again complimented by the minimal and flat space that’s required to set these up.
In addition to Bluetooth connectivity, the new Home Cinema systems also offer USB playback, an HDMI port, optical-in, Analogue Audio Input and the ability to stream music through Sony’s Music Center App on iOS and Android devices.
