Reliance JioGigaFiber FTTH broadband service registrations begin in India: Here’s what you need to know

Reliance Jio is offering you up to 100Mbps of speed for 90 days. Apart from this, users will be getting 100GB of data per month for 3 months with the preview offer. Further, if the data limit is exhausted, users can opt for a complementary data top-up of 40GB through MyJio application or from Jio.com.

Reliance Jio has introduced its much-rumoured, the GigaFiber Fibre-to-home (FTTH) broadband services during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in July this year. Now, the company has opened up registrations for the preview offer of its broadband services.

What will be the internet speed and what are different packs?

Reliance Jio is offering you up to 100Mbps of speed for 90 days. Apart from this, users will be getting 100GB of data per month for 3 months with the preview offer. Further, if the data limit is exhausted, users can opt for a complementary data top-up of 40GB through MyJio application or from Jio.com.

Reliance Jio has not revealed the packs for its latest broadband services. However, as per a report by The Economic Times, the brand might introduce the base pack as low as Rs 500. Under this plan, users will get 300 at a 50Mbps speeds and it comes with a validity of 30 days. Then there will be Rs 750 plan that offers 50Mbps speed with a download limit of 450GB.

The company might also introduce Rs 999 and Rs 1,299 plans that will offer 100Mbps speeds with a data limit of 450GB and 600GB respectively. Lastly, there will be a Rs 1,500 plan that will offer 150Mbps speeds with a download limit of 900GB. All the packs will come with a validity of 30 days.

How to register for GigaFiber?

The registrations for the new broadband service is pretty simple. Users can simply log on to Jio.com and click on the GigaFiber banner. Users then need to give their address. One can simply type the address in the text box or just the location at the maps. Once you enter the address, you will need to add your name and mobile number. After that Jio will send on OTP to your mobile number. Enter the OTP and click submit. That’s it.

What happens after that?

Well, once you did with registrations, all you need to do is wait. This is because the company has already revealed that the preview offer will be rolled out in your locality only if more people around your locality shows interest in the broadband services. If the interest reaches to company’s expectation, only then Reliance will roll out GigaFiber services in your area.

Will there be any installation charges or security deposit?

The company has announced that the installation of the new services will be free of cost. However, a customer needs to pay a security deposit of Rs 4,500. The amount can be paid using debit and credit card, Jio Money or Paytm. The preview offer will be valid for three months, which means you are paying Rs 4,500 for 90 days of preview offer.

What else is Reliance JioGigaFiber service offering?

The new service from Jio is not only restricted to broadband services, it is much more. The company is offering broadband services, IPTC, landline video conferencing, virtual gaming and more. Users can also connect their virtual reality headsets and enjoy 360-degree videos with the JioGigaFiber. Further, users can use on microphone-enabled TV remote to access Jio suites of apps including Jio TV, Jio Cinema and more.
