Reliance Jio has introduced the YouTube app for JioPhone users in India. The Youtube app will finally be available on JioStore which means users of JioPhone 1 and JioPhone 2 will be able to install them.
The YouTube app for JioPhone is built specifically for Jio KaiOS, a web-based mobile operating system which provides a smartphone experience of a feature-phone-like hardware. Jio has revealed that the new application will be available JioPhone AppStore starting today, September 19, 2018.
YouTube on JioPhone will allow users to watch videos and will provide a user experience similar to the YouTube app on Android. The news comes a week after WhatsApp announced that its Messaging application will be available for JioPhone users across India and will be specially developed to work on KaiOS operating system.
Like YouTube, WhatsApp on JioPhone comes loaded with almost all the features, which is present in Android or iOS. Users will be able to send and receive texts, photos and videos with the new app and it will be end-to-end encrypted. One can also record and send voice messages with a couple of taps on the keypad. In order to get started, JioPhone users only need to verify their phone number and then they can begin chatting with other WhatsApp users one-on-one or in groups.
