Just weeks after launching the Kumbh JioPhone for pilgrims visiting Kumbh, Reliance Jio has announced the new JioRail App for JioPhone and JioPhone 2 users in India. The app will allow users on either of the JioPhone models to use IRCTC’s reserved ticket booking service.
The JioRail app will let users book and cancel tickets, check PNR status, train information, timings, routes, seat availability and several other services, especially on JioPhone and JioPhone 2. The app will also make way for Tatkal booking and will accept payment of tickets through debit cards, credit cards and e-wallets.
Additionally, the JioRail app will provide users with an easy option to create an IRCTC account in case a user doesn’t have one. The app also plans to offer enhanced services like PNR status change alerts, locate train and food ordering in the future.
Prior to this, the JioPhone received the YouTube app for its web-based KaiOS mobile operating system. The app will allow users to watch videos and will provide a user experience similar to the YouTube app on Android. The brand recently started selling its feature phones offline.
Reliance Jio also announced a new Happy New Offer last month offering 100 percent cashback for its prepare users who recharge for Rs 399. The company also launched two new prepaid plans for JioPhone and JioPhone 2 users last week worth Rs 594 and Rs 297.
