Following its official tease by Xiaomi yesterday, the Redmi S2 has gone on display at an Mi Store in the Czech Republic, revealing the device in some of its glory. According to an image posted by GSMArena, the Redmi S2 will equip a 5.99-inch HD+ display with a Resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels.
The specs card that is also seen alongside the phone reveals that the S2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with an option to expand the storage using a microSD card. The device will also come with 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB configurations.
Xiaomi’s Redmi S2 is expected to run on Android 8.0 Oreo with its own MIUI 9.5 as an overlay. Packing a tall display, the S2 might just as well include support for gestures for one-handed operation.
In terms of imaging, the Redmi S2 will sport a dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary shooter coupled alongside a 5-megapixel depth sensor for capturing bokeh-esque pictures. There will also be a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies, all of which will be backed up by 3,080mAh battery.
With an aim to sell better phones at entry level prices, the S2 will target the emerging markets like India though we don’t have any idea about the pricing or the release date as of yet.
