Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi is all set to launch its Redmi Note 8 series in China at the end of this month. Company has announced through its official Weibo account that Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro will be launched on August 29th, the same day Redmi TV launch is scheduled to take place.
Update: Just after announcing the launch date of Redmi Note 8 series, the company has now started taking pre-booking of Note 8 and Note pro smartphones through various e-commerce websites in China.

As per the post, the Redmi Note 8 series confirmed to have the quad rear camera setup and Redmi Note 8 Pro will use 64-megapixel Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 primary sensor.
Earlier, Redmi’s GM Lu Weibing had already confirmed the upcoming phone will come with a higher screen-to-body ratio, longer screen, better camera and a larger battery. So, we would expect to Redmi Note 8 series to have a bigger screen like 6.39-inch, of course, 64MP Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 primary sensor, which is now confirmed by the company itself in today’s Weibo post. As far as the battery capacity is concerned, we would expect to have a bigger battery with 5000mAh capacity with 18W Fast charging support in comparison to Redmi Note 7 series 4000mAh battery.
As per reports, Redmi Note 8 standard edition is expected to come armed with Snapdragon 665 Chipset and is expected to have 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage as one of the variants. Connectivity options will include Type C port, VoLTE, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, WiFi, Nano-SIM slot and 3.5mm Headphone jack.
Yesterday, Redmi Note 8 series NFC ad was doing rounds online, which more or less confirms the NFC support in Redmi Note 8 smartphone. In another development, we exclusively reported that the Redmi Note 8 standard edition was found listed on JD.com, which hints towards the 48MP primary sensor. If this listing stands true, we would be seeing 48MP primary sensor in Redmi Note 8 and64-megapixel Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 primary sensor in Redmi Note 8 Pro. Moreover, as per the listing, there will be a 32MP selfie sensor.
