Realme U1 will be the first U-series phone, to be unveiled on November 28 as an Amazon exclusive

The Realme U1 will feature a “Drop Notch” similar to a teardrop notch found on the Realme 2 Pro. With the inclusion of the Helio P70, the U1 will be able to offer a high-resolution depth engine, faster multi-frame noise reduction shot, accurate detection through AI and anti-blooming.

Last week, Realme hinted that its next line of smartphones will be under a new U-series which will incorporate MediaTek’s Helio P70 processor. The newly-independent company has now started teasing the Realme U1 which will be launched on November 28 as an Amazon India exclusive.

The development comes as a tweet from Realme’s official Twitter handle which revealed that Realme’s next device – the U1 will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset, the first smartphone to do so.

The Helio P70 was unveiled by MediaTek last month, as a successor to the Helio P60 SoC with advanced capabilities, support for better cameras, faster data connectivity, an overall improvement in performance and battery consumption. The is based on the latest TSMC 12nm FinFET production process and offers 13 percent better performance, support for taller 20:9 Full displays at a of 2160 x 1080 pixels, a 3X boost in depth-mapping performance and 90fps video recording at 16 megapixels.

The teaser also calls the Realme U1 “a SelfiePro” and the twitter post suggest the same, saying “Get ready to capture those flawless selfies with a smartphone experience like never before”.

Amazon has also listed the Realme U1 on its main page, revealing features and some design aspects of the device. The pictures suggest that the U1 will feature a “Drop Notch” similar to a teardrop notch found on the Realme 2 Pro. With the inclusion of the Helio P70, the U1 will be able to offer a high-resolution depth engine, faster multi-frame noise reduction shot, accurate detection through AI and anti-blooming.

The U1 will be launched during an event on November 28 at 12:30 PM which the company says will be live streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Realme’s official page.
