OnePlus is all set to launch its latest flagship device, the OnePlus 6T, on October 30, in India. Now, just ahead of launch, the company has confirmed that the latest flagship device will ship with Android 9.0 Pie.
The company’s resident software expert, Szymon K, has revealed some details about the upcoming user interface on its official forums. To start with, he said that users should expect “a whole new UI” on the smartphone and it is “the most distinct and intuitive version of OxygenOS yet.” He further revealed that the brand is working in improving the camera coupled with advanced Do no Disturb mode and new navigation gestures.
The “OxygenOS provides a fast, smooth & burden-less experience with no gimmicks.” The expert further said whenever a user will swipe up in an app, the App window will follow his/her finger. Further, one can just quickly flick from the bottom of the screen towards the right of the screen to change between two recently used application. Users can simply hold the power button for 0.5 seconds to active Google Assistant.
“Our FSE team is working on a number of optimizations to the power consumption of OxygenOS, making use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. One of the things they’ve added is an AI-based algorithm that will allow the phone to learn when you sleep, so it can minimize background usage and reduce power consumption accordingly,” said Szymon.
