OnePlus 6 may not launch in India on May 18 for Rs 39,999

OnePlus 6 will be an Amazon exclusive in India.

We already know that OnePlus is gearing up to launch its next-generation of the flagship device, the OnePlus 6. The company has been teasing the launch of the smartphone on its social media platforms. While there has been a mystery on the official launch date of the OnePlus 6 till now, a recent report has claimed that that OnePlus’s next flagship will be launching in India on May 18.

Money Control reports that OnePlus 6 will be launching in India next month on May 18. The report has further claimed that the OnePlus 6 smartphone will be priced in India starting Rs 39,999. So, it is now expected that the higher variant of OnePlus 6 will be over Rs 40,000. Sources familiar with the development have said to The Mobile Indian, “OnePlus may not launch in India on May 18.”

Our sources also hinted that India and China launch may not be a simultaneous one and the gap between the two launches may be as short as one day.

Meanwhile, a mockup concept video of OnePlus 6 has also surfaced online. Phone Industry has uploaded the video on their YouTube channel showing the smartphone from all angles. The 1.25 minutes video shows that the smartphone features vertically aligned dual rear cameras with dual flash light. The notch is also seen on the display of the smartphone. At the rear also lies the fingerprint sensor just below the camera.

As per the video, the bottom of the right side of OnePlus 6 has port and a 3.5mm jack. The left side features a redesigned Alert Slider and volume control button while the right side has power button. The video shows the phone in Black, White, and Red colours. It also reveals the wireless charging, and that the phone will come with a bundled wireless charger.

OnePlus India has recently released a teaser that suggests that the upcoming smartphone will be waterproof. An advertisement is being already shown at cinemas hall in India and it reveals that the smartphone will be exclusively available on Amazon. This not a surprise as all previous OnePlus models were exclusively available on the e-commerce portal.

The OnePlus 6 will be 6GB/8GB of and it will be backed up by up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Further, the latest smartphone will feature Dash Charge V2, which the brand claims will a day’s power within 20 minutes of charging. The brand has already revealed that the OnePlus 6 will feature a massive 256GB of internal storage, making it company’s first phone to bear such large storage. Lau also confirmed that the phone will be backed by an 8GB of RAM. Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. OnePlus 6 will be backed bydual rear cameras that will come with a combination of 20-megapixel primary lens and 16-megapixel of secondary sensor.

OnePlus has already confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will sport an iPhone X-like notch on the top. The brand has stressed that the notch present in its upcoming smartphone is different, ‘implemented with more thought and care’.
