Just days after bringing down the prices of Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 6.1, HMD Global has now announced a new variant to its higher-end smartphone – the Nokia 8.1. The Nokia 8.1 will now be available for purchase in a 6GB + 128GB variant for an asking price of Rs 29,999 on Nokia Store, Amazon and other retailers in India.
The newly launched variant of the Nokia 8.1 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage and will be available for pre-order from February 1. The device will start shipping across the country from February 6 and will be available in a new Blue/Silver version in addition to the already available Iron colour.

HMD Global has partnered with Airtel to offer those who purchase the Nokia 8.1 with up to 1TB of 4G data, three months of Netflix subscription and one year of Amazon Prime subscription. The device also comes with a One time Screen replacement which can be redeemed within 6 months of purchase of the device. The Nokia 8.1 can also be purchased with a No-cost EMI option for 18-24 months and select users can also stand a chance to win 100 percent cashback when buying the phone from the Nokia Store.
To recall, the Nokia 8.1 features a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels, 18.7:9 aspect ratio and 500 nits brightness. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 2.2GHz octa-core Processor with Adreno 616 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
For the imagining department, the phone is has a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 12-megapixel primary lens with dual-tone LED flash, 1/2.55″ Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and 13-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, ZEISS optics. For the front, it has a 20-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The Nokia 8.1 runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system and is backed up by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support. On the connectivity front, the phone has dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C and 3.5mm Headphone jack. It has dimensions 154.8 x 75.76 x 7.97 mm and weight 180grams.
