We came to know recently that HMD was working on releasing a Nokia 7.2 smartphone along with the Nokia 6.2. With a launch suspected soon, we’ve now come to know the specifications and features of the Nokia 7.2 as its codename, specifications and case renders has been leaked online.
First things thirst, the Nokia 7.2 has been codenamed as “Star-Lord” while its sibling, the Nokia 6.2 has been confirmed to have the codename “Daredevil”, reports NPU. In case you don’t remember, images of the Nokia Daredevil got leaked on to the internet earlier this month, revealing the design and some key features of what’s supposed to be sold as the Nokia 6.2.
We got to know yesterday that the Nokia 7.2 will have an identical external design to the Nokia 6.2, fitting the same cases. We can thus believe that the Nokia 7.2 will feature a glass unibody design with a tear-drop notch at the top of the display. The phone will come with a 6.18-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a Resolution of 2340×1080 pixels, an 18.7:9 aspect ratio and a 1:1500 contrast ratio.
Judging by the similar design to the Nokia Daredevil, the Nokia Star-Lord aka Nokia 7.2 could also come with a 48MP Zeiss Optics camera and a 120-degree Wide-Angle lens. It’s unclear about what type of sensor the third camera hole will be about but the primary camera module does come with an LED flash.
At this time, there’s no word on what will power the Nokia 7.2 but we can speculate that the device could equip a Snapdragon 710 or 660 Processor with 4GB and 6GB RAM options. The device is expected to run on Android Pie and could be backed by a 3,500mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge support.
The previously leaked images of the Nokia Daredevil and the new case renders from SlashLeaks also confirm a 3.5mm headphone jack, a rear fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port on the Nokia 7.2. The device will equip a single speaker with a smart amp and will come with dual microphones with support for Nokia OZO Audio capture. Other connectivity options to be included are WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS and 4G LTE. The phone will measure at 156.9 x 76.2 x 7.9mm.
We can expect the Nokia 7.2 to be launched soon in India and other markets at around the same time as the Nokia 6.2.
