Known for its timely updates that push its older devices to newer firmware, Xiaomi has revealed that it’ll be seeding 28 of its older devices with the latest MIUI 10 interface which was announced at the end of May. Just days after porting its Redmi Note 5 Proan update to feature the latest Android 8.1 Oreo, the Chinese manufacturer will now be preparing a global ROM fora stable release of MIUI 10 in India, at the end of which 28 more devices will be pushed an update to Xiaomi newest firmware.
While a list of 28 eligible devices has been listed in the MIUI forum, Xiaomi has acknowledged that it’ll immediately start rolling out Global Beta ROMs before the release of MIUI 10 stable versions. MIUI 10 will be rolled out to both Mi 8 and MI 8 SE in India in addition to the three-year-old Redmi 4, Redmi 4s and Redmi 4c.
While some flagships like the MI 8 lineup have already been prompted of an update, the rest of the devices will only be rolled out a stable release once Xiaomi wraps up the beta testing program which is expected to end on July 24. However, there has been no indication of the rollout schedule but we do estimate the Redmi 5and Note 5 series to be among the top of the list in terms of initial rollout.
What’s surprising is to see the Redmi 6 lineup being left out to dry but being new devices, Xiaomi might as well seed updates for the same within a short while. The list of devices eligible for a future update to MIUI 10 are as follows:
