Xiaomi introduces MIUI 10 with gesture support, AI integration and more

The MIUI 10 comes loaded with a plethora of new features. To start with, the interface comes loaded with full-screen hand gestures and improved recent menu option. The recent apps are now shown in card-like format, which the company claims make it easier for the user to switch between different apps.

Xiaomi, at an event in China, has taken the wrap off from its latest operating system, the MIUI 10. The Developer for the MIUI 10 will be available for over 33 Xiaomi smartphones and the first batch of devices will get the preview on June 6.

The first batch of devices that will receive the MIUI 10 developer ROM includes Mi 8, MIX 2S, MIX 2, MIX 1, Redmi S2, Mi 6X, Mi 6, Mi 5, Mi Note 2,Redmi Note 5 (Note 5 Pro). Apart from this, other smartphones will receive the build in Late July. This list includes Mi 5X, Mi 5c, Mi5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Mi Note 3, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4x, Redmi 3S/3X, Redmi Pro, Redmi Note5A, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 4X and Redmi Note 3.

The latest user interface from Xiaomi comes loaded with a plethora of new features. To start with, the interface comes loaded with full-screen hand gestures and improved recent menu option. The recent apps are now shown in card-like format, which the company claims make it easier for the user to switch between different apps. Users can swipe to delete the or long press for deeper actions.

The user interface also comes loaded with a host of centric features. While most of them will run in the background, the major takeaway here is the bokeh mode to older smartphones. This means, once the older Xiaomi smartphones are updated to MIUI 10, they will support bokeh mode even if it is a single camera lens. Other features of the AI is decreasing app load significantly and analysing user behaviour to optimise the user interface accordingly.

Then there is a smart home manager, which the brand claims is a unified interface that will control all smart home devices. Xiaomi says that the interface will support approx 590 brands. Apart from this, the MIUI 10 comes loaded with a new Driving Mode that takes advantage of Xiaomi’s virtual assistant to control the smartphone in the car and users can safely navigate to a location and reply to messages without touching the phone.
