We reported earlier that Micromax is going to launch a new premium smartphone in next 28 days in India. Now, the brand has confirmed that the smartphone will be named as Micromax Canvas Infinity and it will be launched in India by the end of August this year.
The company reveals that the smartphone will come loaded with a 5.7-inch display and it will feature an aspect ratio of 18:9. However, the company didn’t reveal much about the device, but it is expected to the first affordable smartphone that will provide such kind of aspect ratio.
The leaked image reveals the front of the device and it is placed along with Samsung Galaxy S8. The Micromax Canvas Infinity (on the left) will come with some minimum side bezels and there will be less upper and lower bezels as well. However, when compared with Samsung Galaxy S8 (on the right), the smartphone looks a bit tall in nature. On the right side, one can see volume controls and power on/off button, while at the base, there is a microUSB port along with a microphone.
Interestingly, Micromax will become the first Indian smartphone manufacturer to adopt new aspect ratio. To recall, LG was the first brand that came up with the whole 18:9 aspect ratio known as FullVision with the launch of LG G6. Samsung followed the lead and unveiled the similar aspect ratio with its Infinity display with Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
In terms of specifications, it is expected to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, however, the Processor series is not known at the moment. The phone is also expected to come loaded with some good camera sensors.
Sources familiar with the development earlier told The Mobile Indian, “Micromax will introduce a new lineup of a premium smartphone called as Infinity series by August end. It will have 5.7-inch curved display and sport 9:18 aspect ratio and will be an affordable alternative to Samsung Galaxy S8.”
