Micromax is all set to launch a new series of smartphones in the next 28 days in India. The new series will be called as Infinity Series. As the name suggests it will have a curved display with9:18 aspect ratio.
Sources familiar with the development have said to The Mobile Indian, ” Micromax will introduce a new lineup of a premiumsmartphone called as Infinity series by August end. It will have 5.7-inchcurved display and sport 9:18 aspect ratio and will be an affordable alternative to Samsung Galaxy S8.” Interestingly, Micromax will be the first Indian manufacturer to come with an Infinity display with such an aspect ratio. LG was the first brand to come with such aspect ratio with the launch of LG G6, though it does not have a curved display. Samsung, on the other hand, has an Infinity display on its latest flagships, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, which comes with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9.
In terms of specifications, it is expected to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 2.45GHz with 4/ 6 GB RAM and 128 GB Internal Memory which can be further expanded using a microSD card. It will have a single camera setup in the rear which may have a 16-megapixel shooter.
Offlate Micromax has been focusing on launching more and more devices in different price segments but its premium segment has been without a flagship device for a long time. This move by the company is aimed at adding muscle power in its device portfolio. Therecent demonetisationdrive by Government of India had put the brake on to the growth of Micromax for last few months but now it seems the company is back on track and rearing to go.
