LG V40 ThinQ to be launched on October 4, triple rear cameras coming

Google will unveil its next-gen Pixel phones on October 9, while Huawei has also scheduled a launch event for Mate 20 series on October 16.

The LG V40 ThinQ will finally be made official next month after weeks of leaks and rumours. The company has confirmed that the LG V40 ThinQ will be launched at an event in Seoul, South Korea on October 4th. The event will take place in LG Science Park in Seoul, at 10 am on October 4. However, some reports also say that the phone will be launched at an event in New York on October 3.

UPDATE: The company has now confirmed via a teaser that it is hosting the launch event for LG V40 ThinQ in New York at 5 pm EDT (2:30am IST) on October 3.

LG has sent out media invites for the launch event of the V40 ThinQ in the form of a 10-second video. The video shows the capabilities of triple cameras in the phone with a subject being photographed with three different lenses, including super-wide angle, standard, and telephoto, suggesting a more powerful camera performance.

Apart from this, LG has not revealed anything about the specifications of the upcoming LG V40 ThinQ. As per rumours, the smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM, and a 3,300 battery. For the software, the smartphone is expected to ship with 9.0 Pie on board.

The smartphone is rumoured to come with 6.4-inch QHD+ POLED notched FullVision display and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. For the camera, the LG V40 ThinQ is said to come with five cameras. The triple rear setup is expected to include 20-megapixel, 16-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors, while for the front there will also be dual with unknown resolution.
