Huawei Mate 20 teaser reveals Kirin 980 SoC and AI features

The teaser hints that the upcoming smartphones will come with enchanced AI features. Until now, Huawei has majorly used the AI in the camera application with AI scene detection.

Huawei has already confirmed at IFA 2018 thatwill launch Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro on October 16 at an event held in the UK. Now, just ahead of launch, the company has revealed its first teaser giving some glimpse of upcoming features of the Mate 20 series.

The teaser hints that the upcoming smartphones will come with enchanced features. Until now, Huawei has majorly used the AI in the camera application with AI scene detection. It would be be interesting to see the company will add the AI to other departments as well or not. Further, the teaser hints that the upcoming smartphones will be powered by the latest Kirin 980 chipset.

The Kirin 980 SoC is world’s first processor that is build using 7nm process. The is also a first to incorporate Cortex-A76 based cores, which is claimed to deliver 75 percent more power and 58 percent more efficiency as compared to the previous generation. It features an octa-core chipset with two ARM Cortex A76 high-performance cores clocked at 2.6Ghz, two ARM Cortex A76 cores clocked up to 1.92 GHz and four ARM Cortex A55 cores clocked up to 1.8Ghz for power efficiency.

As per earlier leaks, the Mate 20 Pro is expected to feature a triple-camera setup, which could be an upgrade to the one present in Huawei P20 Pro. The Mate 20 is reported to feature a LCD panel, while the Pro will sport a AMOLED screen. The smartphones are reported to feature a 6.3-inch Quad screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The phones are rumoured to come up to 8GB of and up to 256GB of internal storage.
