HTC has announced that it will roll out Android Pie update to its range of smartphones pretty soon. The company has revealed that it will roll out Android 9.0 Pie update to HTC U11, HTC U11+ and U12+ starting from Q2 2019.
The company announced this information on its official Twitter handle. The tweet reads, “We wanted to share the status on the Android 9 update. HTC is currently working on ensuring the update is compatible with our phones & we anticipate a release for U11, U11+ & U12+ customers starting Q2’19. Exact timing defers to operators’ availabilities in different countries.”
WIth this, the smartphones will Android Pie features like adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, App Actions, new gesture navigation system, simplified volume controls, revamped split screen, improved DND mode, notification management, Digital Wellbeing and more.
Meanwhile, HTC is reported to be in talks with Indian smartphone manufacturers for brand licencing to make a comeback in the industry. The brand is in talks with three Indian-based smartphone manufacturers. HTC is talking to Micromax, Lava and Karbonn for brand licencing. The basically wants to give its brand to other manufacturers and earn royalty in return. The report highlights that discussions with the Indian brands are in advanced stages and it highly likely Lava and Karbonn teaming up to bid for the HTC brand licence.
