HTC U12+ launched with 6-inch Quad HD+ display and four cameras

The HTC U12+ phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 2.6GHz octa processor and it comes in two storage variants one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the other sports a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

As expected, HTC has today announced the launch of its new flagship smartphone – the HTC U12+. The smartphone comes in Translucent Blue, Flame Red and Ceramic Black colours. The Translucent Blue variant is priced at $799 which is approx. Rs 54,567 for the 64GB variant and $849 which is approx. Rs 57,982 for the 128GB variant. The Ceramic Black will only come in one variant of 64GB for $799.

Jumping straight to the specifications, the U12+ sports a bezel-less 6-inch Quad Super LCD display with a screen resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display is protected with 5. The phone also comes with sec generation Sense feature, through which users can squeeze the phone to launch different features. With the Edge Sense 2, you can also Hold for Smart Rotate and Smart Dim or Double tap for a mini screen for easy one-handed use.

The phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 2.6GHz octa and it comes in two storage variants one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the other sports a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The memory can be further expanded via micro card slot. The phone also includes a Face Unlock which allows users to access the phone simply by staring at the screen.

On the imaging front, the U12+ features a dual rear camera with a combination of 12-megapixel lens with 1.4-micron pixel size, f/1.75 and a 16-megapixel telephoto lens with 1.0-micron pixel size, f/2.6 aperture. The rear camera also features UltraSpeed Autofocus 2 (phase detection + laser autofocus) up to 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, dual LED flash, Pro mode, optical image stabilization, AR stickers, face detection, panorama among others. Further, the phone features video recording at 60fps, slow-motion videos at 240fps. For the front also, there is a dual-camera setup as well with a combination of two 8-megapixel with 1.12-micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture.

HTC U12+ runs on 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense UI on top of it. The phone is backed by a 35000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and it also supports IP68 certification making it water and dust resistant. On the connectivity front, the U12+ supports LTE, 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, GPS, and no jack. The device measures 156.6 x 73.9 x 9.7 mm and weighs 188 grams. For the sensors, it has Accelerometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Magnetic Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Edge Sensor.
