Honor introduced its budget-centric smartphone, the Honor 8X, in India in October last year with EMUI 8.2, which was based on Android Oreo. Now, the company has confirmed that it will be rolling stable EMUI 9.0 update, which will be based on Android 9.0 Pie, for the Honor 8X pretty soon.
The company has announced that the Honor 8X will get Android 9.0 Pie update starting from March 18 in India. The brand has revealed that it will roll out the update in batches, which simply means that a small percentage of users will get the update from the said date, while the broader roll out might take a bit longer time reach all Honor 8X units.
With this, users will be able to experience the new EMUI 9.0, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The user interface comes loaded with some good editions. The new update will local language support to 28 languages. Then there is a local calendar that will showcase different panchang and more. The brand has also enabled deeper integration for the Paytm application in the upcoming user interface.
To recall, the Honor 8X comes with a price tag of Rs 14,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, Rs 16,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage option and Rs 18,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB model. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels along with a 91 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by Kirin 710 Processor coupled with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU.
