Honor 8 Pro starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update in India

Honor 8 Pro was launched in India last year with Android 7.0 Nougat on board.

Honor confirmed Oreo update for Honor 8 Pro last month. Now the Honor 8 Pro has reportedly started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update. As per the report of TheAndroidSoul, The Android 8.0 Oreo update is currently available as an but can be manually downloaded to the phone. Users can go to Settings> About Phone, to check for the latest update.

The company has ditched EMUI 6 and 7, instead, it unveiled EMUI 8.0. After the Oreo update, they will run on Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 operating system. After the Oreo update, the smartphone will have picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more.

Honor 8 Pro boasts a metal unibody design and the major highlight of the smartphone is the dual rear cameras. The camera comes with a combination of 12-megapixel with one being used to capture RGB, while other captures details in monochrome. The smartphone also supports recording at 30 frames per second and comes with an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling.

As per the specifications are concerned, the device will feature a 5.7-inch QHD LTPS display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 515ppi. The device is powered by company’s in-house Kirin 960 octa-core processor and is backed by a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via card slot.

The device now runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and is juiced by a 4000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the smartphone support 4G, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4.2, dual-SIM, sensor and measures 157 x 77.50 x 6.97 mm and weighs 184 grams.
