A month after announcing the Note 8 smartphone, Coolpad has now introduced the entry-level Coolpad M3 in China. The device comes with a tall screen that has a notch up top and a rear 13MP camera for primary imaging that looks like a dual camera unit. The Coolpad M3 is available for an asking price of 799 yuan (approx. Rs 8,100).
Measuring in at 149.3 x 72.3 x 8.95mm, the Coolpad M3 features a 5.85-inch HD_ LCD screen with a Resolution of 1512 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The display has a notch on top and the rear panel is made out of glass which reflects different shades of blue/black at different angles.
Weighing a little over 171 grams, the Coolpad device is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 Chipset clocked at 1.8GHz and is backed by 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There’s a 2,800mAh battery that is charged through a standard 5V/2A charger.
For optics, the M3 equips a 13-megapixel main sensor which is crammed inside what looks like a vertically aligned dual-lens system with an LED flash sandwiched in between. There’s a 5-megapixel camera on the front for selfies which adds AI beautification by distinguishing between a male and female through facial and complexion features.
The front camera also helps in AI face recognition and the device features a fingerprint sensor at the back for added security. The M3 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and supports 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, micro USB and a Headphone jack as connectivity options.
The Coolpad M3 is available in Gentleman’s Enamel and Blue Sea colours for an asking price of 799 yuan (approx. Rs 8,100).
